Educational Tours

Each year some of our classes undertake educational trips. These are as varied as walking tours of historical areas of Limerick city, trips to Adventure Centres as well as attendance at appropriate concerts and shows.

The primary consideration in organising an educational tour is child safety. The organising teacher should ensure that all venues are appropriate and safe; that staff involved are trained and that the centre has insurance appropriate to the activities involved. Detailed plans should be submitted to the Board through the Principal. Parents should be given written details of the trip and asked to sign a permission slip which is retained by the Teacher. Teachers should leave mobile phone contact numbers with the school and bring a First Aid Kit with them. The organising teacher should ensure that supervision is adequate during the trip.
